Flat nylon webbing is a great choice for high abrasion applications, such as pet collars, leashes, leads, ratchet straps, D-ring belts and more. Because nylon webbing is strong, it can also be used with larger buckles with higher breaking strengths. Because nylon webbing straps absorb water, they're not particularly good in wet applications. Nylon stretches when it gets wet, so a nylon strap will not stay tight in the rain or on a river trip. Also, nylon absorbs water quickly which can cause rot and mildew if not dried properly.
